Will You Give to Feed The Hungry In Our Community Kitchen?

We're close to our goal and need your help to complete this.

As we have since 1986, we need to be able to cook onsite in our own commercial kitchen and have our community families in need and individuals; homeless, veterans, senior citizens, the destitute, lonely and broken in for hot, nutritious, delicious meals!

Since 1986 thousands of hot, freshly cooked nutritious meals have been served to families and individuals in our community from our own mission kitchen. The kitchen was open for service each week and it was an awesome place for people in need to come and eat.

Our pantry is currently serving over 200 families each week plus helping other organizations with food when we have more of something than needed.

Due to the Flood of January 2022 we are currently unable to cook and provide hot meals to those who don't come to our food pantry, those who have no place and few resources to draw from. Food need on Long Island is real.

JANUARY 17, 2022

January 17, 2022 on a frigid morning, a sprinkler pipe broke upstairs in the dining room building and the gushing water (80psi from the sprinkler pipe) destroyed almost the entire inside of the building. It had to be demolished and dried out by a restoration company.

The structure is simply not safe the way it is and most of the existing 1930's structure cannot support the new construction renovation. Hoffman-Grayson and 2 contractors said that it will likely cost about $850,000 to do the complete commercial rebuild, bring the building up to code and make it suitable for service, properly appointed with commercial equipment, tables, chairs and furnishings to provide an excellent place of service to our community with a complete commercial kitchen and two dining areas.

A new survey of the property was completed. The architectural plans are completed and we have been approved for our Building Permit. We are contracted with Neal Hoffman and the team from Hoffman-Grayson Architects LLP. They have given us the best and most beautiful plan to create a home-like serving efficient space with a code compliant, full commercial kitchen, utilizing our space and resources well.

We signed the contract with Coastal Enterprises of New York Inc. on November 15, 2023 and the estimated date of completion is mid 2024.

Demolition and construction began on December 4, 2023 and they have been working hard ever since. They will be working through the winter months.

Coming together for meal time is one of the most important times that we can have together as families and as a community. There is fellowship and friendship built around the breaking of bread at a table.

We will share new information as soon as we have it and we will keep you updated every step of the way.

We are thankful to everyone for helping this project come together and we are believing that it will be completed 100% debt free so that we can serve there freely.

Will you give today to help us get back to cooking? We can't wait until we are! To date we have raised $610,000 towards this project. We're 75% of the way there! Many of you have helped us to get to where we are thus far and we are so very grateful!
